Palle and I have made a video with 4 exercises that together form the basis for the horse's training under saddle.
In this video I ride the horses in halter, usually, I have done these exercises with a bridle. Lately, I have started riding the horses a lot in a halter, so we thought it would be obvious to film while I tried to review the exercises.
Our gelding Noller has always been a mystery to me. No matter what I have done, he has never seemed happy and relaxed during training.
I have, of course, been wondering if he could be doing something wrong or if it could be the saddle. But no!! Noller is the only one of our horses that has no injuries or defects. His previous saddle fit really well and his new saddle is made to measure, just to make sure there was nothing wrong in that area.
During this time when many of us are staying at home, here I will tell you a little about the possibility of online teaching as I have chosen not to go out and teach until the Corona situation is controlled.
There are a few who have asked about the possibility of online teaching, where you send me a video with your ride or work by hand and describe your possible problem, which I can guide you through with "talk in" or in writing.
You can see more about Online Teaching at this side
Here is, at the bottom of the page, a video from the first lesson with Zazu and Maria. It is not often that I have longer videos from a lesson, but now that I have one I want to use the opportunity to tell what it is I do in a "first lesson".
Palle made many small clips that I have put together for a long video. I have included all clips so that you can see the entire course.
Zazu and Maria
Zazu is 7 years old and Maria bought her this summer. Initially everything was fine, but then Maria started to have some problems. Maria got the feeling that Zazu was not prepared for riding neither musically nor mentally. She was advised to do some work from the ground and this is where I came into the picture.
