Had a nice but very windy lesson with Lappe and Kristina.
Lappe is a really beautiful horse, but the beauty has a price and that's what I want to get into here.
Lappe is a horse bred to look like she is "going uphill". This will lead many to believe that the horse is NOT on the forehand. But horses built like this are on the forehand!! Like all other horses, they must be trained to take weight on the hindquarters.
Here are Cody and Susanne
Susanne and Cody are on a journey together. When I first saw them 6 months ago, Susanne hadn't ridden Cody for some time. Cody had become reluctant and reacted violently. Susanne was afraid there was something physically wrong with Cody.
I was wildly surprised when I saw Yellow and Susanne again. Yellow was really detached and relaxed and Susanne worked him calmly with slight slight corrections. It was a pleasure to watch.
