Amaze is now ridden for about 2 years. The first year, she was primarily ridden in steps and only once or twice a week. After that we started doing a little more trot work and rode 2-4 times a week.
For a long time, I rode Amaze where she stretched from just below the bridge and down. I wanted her to stretch as deep as possible at first because of her kissing spine.
Here's a little video of my beloved Amaze ❤️
Most of you probably know that she has a shoulder injury, suffered change in one's hare and Kissing spine.
Wonderful day for a photo session with Amaze and her new beautiful browband from KKressing. Thank you Kriemhild Morgenroth for bringing them to me and for being patient when I couldn't decide which one (or two) I should choose.
In this post, I will show a video with some lunge work with Amaze and I will comment on something that we talk a lot about - activity.
Amaze has or had kissing spine just behind her wither and she has a change in her joint in the left hock. For a long time she was irregular moving, but today you can hardly see it. These things have occurred because of a shoulder injury she had as 3,5 years old. For a few years she was compensating and it has given her wear elsewhere in the body.
I would like to tell you when I use work in hand and for what reason
When autumn and thus the rain comes, I can have periods where I only work the horses in walk. The arena can simply get too wet to do much more than walk work. Then I often do work in hand with the horses.
I also work the horses in hand if I'd like to have trained all four horses, but don't have that much time. It's quick to put on a bridle and then go out and get them to work over their back for 4-10 minutes.
